Trail User Notice: Plantation Thinning in the Zavitz Nursery Tract

Plantation thinning is scheduled for the Zavitz Nursery Tract of the St. Williams Conservation Reserve this fall and winter as part of the Conservation Reserve’s ongoing vegetation management and habitat restoration work.
Affected trails may close as early as November 9th 2026 and remain closed as late as March 31st 2027.

Please refer to the accompanying map for work areas and affected trails.

• Orange Shading: Vegetation Management area – temporarily closed during operations
• Orange dashed lines: trails subject to temporary closure

Closure signs will be posted at the affected access points before operations begin. Please obey posted signs and stay out of closed trails and work areas for your safety and the safety of the operators.

Closures remain in effect even when crews or equipment are not visibly working.
